Description

This is a Meccano Dinky kit copyrighted 1973. When put together, it makes the same Dinky metal limousine Mercedes Benz 600 that Dinky sold as model number 128, a model which I think was issued about the same time as this kit or maybe a little afterward. Just like the completed model, all four doors open and so does the trunk lid and the motor compartment lid. The back of the kit's box lists 18 other kits that Meccano says were also available in 1973, cars, buses, dump truck, aircraft and even a "Luner Roving Vehicle." The ultra-luxury Mercedes 600 was sold between 1964 and 1981. When it came out, it was the most expensive car in the world. It conveyed monarchs, presidents and celebrities.
