Description

One of the best, most interesting, and most rare of the Dinky SuperToys series: The 1963 Dinky SuperToys 887 Meccano Unic Esterel Air BP Airport Tanker Truck. This one is in very good condition. There is a bit of paint chipping on the perimiter of the cab (easy to touch up because it's white), and a bit of fading around the silk-screened Air BP logo on the tank. Here are a few of the features that make this truly a SuperToy: 1) At almost 13 inches , this is a Dinky that's not so "Dinky!" 2) The headlights work . They are powered by a single AA Battery. See photo above. The entire battery/switch assembly can be removed. 3) Five 6-inch sections of "fuel" hose are included and can be connected for total of 30 inches of hose. 4) Three removable filler caps are located on the top of the tank. The tank can thus be filled with water to simulate fueling. 5) There is a valve at the bottom of the tank which can be connected to the pipes and turned on and off. This is a truly unique and seldom seen model, Great either for Play or Display. I've been told only a thousand were ever made back in 1963. There probably aren't very many remaining, certainly not in this condition.
